Glenn Kline

Glenn Kline manages Innovation Valley Partners (IVP), Battelle Ventures' affiliate fund. Glenn has approximately 20 years of experience in technology commercialization, private-equity investment and venture-fund management.

Immediately prior to joining IVP, Glenn was managing partner at Academy Funds, an early-stage venture-capital firm that he co-founded to focus on commercializing and spinning out technology from major research institutions. During his tenure with Academy, Glenn raised two funds; managed three offices; and led investments in some 30 portfolio companies, which included start-ups in the areas of life sciences, semiconductors, advanced materials and information technology.

Prior to Academy Funds, Glenn served as the senior director in charge of Mergers & Acquisitions/Strategic Planning and Business Development at Del Monte Fresh Produce, a wholly owned subsidiary of $2 billion, publicly traded Fresh Del Monte Produce (NYSE:FDP), based in Coral Gables, Fla.

His experience in finance began in 1989, when he was an associate and vice president of the Ventana Growth Funds, an international venture capital firm based in Irvine, Calif. There, he developed and managed the North America Environmental Fund, which focused on environmental technologies in North America and involved international institutional investors from North America, Europe and Asia.

Glenn holds an MBA in finance from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA in Los Angeles, Calif., and a BA in international relations from Pomona College in Claremont, Calif.

Glenn currently serves as Chairman of Ampulse Corporation and Aldis, Inc.; and as a director of Planar Energy Devices, Inc.
